Woman Fakes A Seizure In Order To Foil Robbery- A Move She Learned From Law & Order

Source –  A would-be robber handed a woman a frightening note on a train in San Francisco, threatening to hurt her if she didn’t hand over her wallet and phone, according to police.

Instead of caving into the crook’s demands, 32-year-old Julie Dragland used quick-thinking to thwart the robbery. She faked a seizure, a move she learned from an episode of “Law & Order,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Two other passengers ran to her aid and the suspect exited the train, according to Bay Area Rapid Transit police.

“When I read the note, I started freaking out,” she said in an interview. “I did not want to give up my stuff, but I had no idea who was behind me.” Police later released surveillance images of the suspect described as a woman carrying a suitcase.

The note read. “There are 2 guns pointed at you now,” “If you want to live hand back your wallet + phone NOW + do not turn around and be discreet. Do not turn around until after you have left civic center + you will live.” There is no indication from the security footage the suspect was armed with any weapons, police said.

Julie Dragland you quick thinking son of a bitch! Just like in 300, “it is not fear that grips her, only a heightened sense of things.” Reacting to a robbery attempt with a fake seizure takes an impressive amount of composure. What’s more impressive is that she got the idea from Law & Order, a show that was designed specifically to be background noise. It’s been on the air for twenty-eight years and I don’t think anyone other than Julie has ever paid attention to it. It’s a good thing she did though because it probably saved her life. Maybe? The suspect doesn’t exactly look threatening.

She looks more like someone you’d see on an episode of Reno 911. She’s pushing a CVS  carriage wearing the same shades and hoops as J-Lo in the I Luh Ya Papi music video.

Regardless of the suspect’s mental health, Julie deserves credit. Not since Squints in The Sandlot have we seen such a convincing performance. She could’ve taken the easy way out and went with illiteracy or dementia but she didn’t. Personally I would’ve just ignored the note. Pretend you don’t see it, make her tap you on the shoulder and the entire plan is foiled.

The suspect is lucky she didn’t try this shit in Oakland. Something tells me the folks on the downtown AC Bus Transit would’ve reacted much differently.
